An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Clinical Dietitian to manage the nutritional care of pediatric patients. Manages the comprehensive medical nutritional care of patients, including nutrition assessment, development of care plans, diet modification, nutrition education, and activities related to the nutritional needs of the patient population.
The Clinical Dietitian will work on nutrition and lifestyle medicine research projects at the Center for Family Health Promotion and Nutrition Equity, within the Division of General Academic Pediatrics. This is a 24-hour per week outpatient position for a licensed Registered Dietitian in Massachusetts. The role involves providing nutrition care to pediatric patients at the MGH Chelsea Health Center (Tuesdays and Thursdays) and MGH Revere Health Center (Mondays), both virtually and in-person. Typical hours are approximately 10 am to 6:30 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, depending on clinical schedules.
The Dietitian will be part of the pediatric CHAMPION Program's multidisciplinary team, including a physician and a Community Health Worker. The program aims to evaluate the effectiveness of telehealth versus in-person delivery in reducing child BMI and asthma control in diverse, lower-income families. The program features individual and group visits based on a curriculum, with tools to support behavioral change, including follow-up calls, educational materials, social determinants screening, referrals, and text messaging. The Dietitian will deliver evidence-based medical nutrition therapy, including screening, assessment, planning, and ensuring adherence to policies. Care will focus on children and adolescents with overweight/obesity and asthma, through both in-person and virtual visits, and participation in related learning and quality improvement activities.
