Clinical Development Fellow in Trauma & Orthopaedics

Join to apply for the Clinical Development Fellow in Trauma & Orthopaedics role at NHS Scotland.

Position Overview

This role is based between The Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley and Inverclyde Royal Hospital in Greenock. It is suitable for individuals who have completed foundation training or equivalent and wish to gain further experience before applying for specialty training. Candidates must have recent surgical specialty experience at FY2+ level and have completed Immediate Life Support (ILS) training.

Responsibilities
  • Balance ward-based clinical practice with protected teaching and professional development time.
  • Develop and deliver teaching to medical students, particularly those interested in medical education.
  • Contribute to the junior out-of-hours rota, including resident on-call duties at the Royal Alexandra Hospital and rotation at Inverclyde Royal Hospital.
Supervision and Development

Assigned a Clinical/Educational Supervisor, with regular meetings to develop a Personal Development Plan (PDP) aligned with previous experience and career goals.

  • Requires PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland Check.
