We are looking to recruit a 1.0wte permanent Clinical Psychologist/ Psychological Therapist/ Counselling Psychologist to join our psychological intervention team, working as part of the wider multi-disciplinary team (MDT). With the move towards Community Transformation it's an exciting time to work as a Psychological practitioner as part of an adult Community Mental Health (CMH) MDT. We want to welcome a new therapist to the team, to support us to offer a range of therapies to those presenting with significant mental health difficulties, and are keen and able to support development and training/ CPD in the role. There are opportunities for personal development, including through our strong links with local supervisors and training initiatives, as well as NHS-funded training courses that are currently linked with CMH Community Transformation.
North Cumbria has two Community Treatment Teams (CTTs), which offer Community Mental Health to adults within the region, and this Band 7 opportunity offers flexibility across the footprint, with most clinical work based in the East of the region, predominantly Carlisle. We have clinical pathways for Psychosis, Complex Emotional Difficulties and other presentations (such as Bipolar, OCD, PTSD, Severe Depression and Anxieties). Our teams have a range of staff from different professions and roles and we work alongside and with a range of specialist, NHS and third sector services. We offer evidence-based treatments to those within our service, such as CBT and FI to those presenting with a psychosis or bipolar. and have a well-established pathway incorporating SCM and MBT for those presenting with needs relating to their personality. There are funded opportunities for such training. You will be working alongside committed psychological therapies staff, supported by a dedicated and experienced MDT, with strong, progressive and supportive clinical supervision and leadership from senior psychological staff. The post-holder will be professionally supervised by a Consultant Clinical Psychologist within the team.

The post-holder is responsible for providing a qualified specialist psychological therapy to clients, providing specialist psychological assessment, formulation and therapeutic interventions. The post-holder will provide clinical supervision, advice and consultation to colleagues, work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team, contribute to training and audits, support safety and a commitment to promoting recovery and wellbeing and maximising independence, provide compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect and dignity. The post-holder will work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the service's policies and procedures.
