A mental health service provider is looking for a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist in Barking. This role involves providing specialist input to children and their families, conducting assessments, and promoting mental health. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join our dynamic multi-disciplinary team based in Barking and Dagenham.
NELFT is an experienced provider of Mental Health Services for Children and Young People, already providing these services in Essex, Medway and four London boroughs. It is also one of England’s largest NHS Foundation Trusts. Our priority is providing the highest standard of care to all of our service users.
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and skilled clinician who is able to maintain clinical curiosity and is keen to engage in reflective practice as well as be able to be an advocate for children, young people and families\' needs.
You will be a highly motivated and innovative individual with extensive clinical experience working with children and young people with emotional wellbeing and mental health difficulties. We have partnered with the University of Cambridge to drive excellence and research in the field of paediatric autism, and this will be an opportunity for the right candidate to foster and develop research and innovation in our emotional and mental health services working closely with our paediatric, autism and wider children services. We are willing to consider applicants with less than 2 years NHS experience (or equivalent) who wish to apply for this post on a developmental basis.

NELFT places great importance on new starters being properly welcomed into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks, including mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process, new starters will also have the opportunity to meet the executive team, senior managers, and attend several drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing, and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
This post will be subject to a probationary period.
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,313 to a maximum of £5,436 p.a. pro rata for part time).
