Job description

There is an opportunity for 1.6 full-part time Band 7 Clinical/Counselling Psychologists to work within the Barnet CAMHS Neurodevelopmental team based at the Holly Oak Clinic, Edgware Community Hospital. The postholder will be an active member of the multidisciplinary team, providing specialist neurodevelopmental and mental health assessments.

The role includes providing pre and post-diagnostic services for children and families to promote psychoeducation, including managing a small caseload of psychological treatments to support mental health needs, while liaising with agencies for further community and multiagency help.

The team adopts a multi-disciplinary approach, informed and embedded within the iThrive Framework. We focus on developing clinicians’ skills through high-quality supervision, reflective practice, and CPD opportunities. Recent training has included ADI-R, ADOS, EMDR, and Narrative Exposure Therapy.

We are a warm, welcoming, and inclusive team dedicated to flexible, creative, person-centred, and evidence-based support for children and young people with neurodevelopmental and psychological needs.

The Barnet CAMHS Psychology Team includes a diverse group of clinicians, from assistant psychologists and trainee clinical psychologists to lead/consultant clinical/counselling psychologists. The team offers excellent opportunities for career development and leadership skills.

Our psychologists actively participate in service development projects aimed at meeting the complex psychological needs of children and families efficiently. Innovation and practice-based evidence development are strongly encouraged.

If interested, please contact Adriana Fernandez-Chirre, Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Lead for BEH CAMHS Neurodevelopmental Backlog, at 02087024500 or via email: adriana.fernandez-chirre@nhs.net.
