Job description

Clinical/Counselling Psychologist - B&D CAMHS

To act as an autonomous professional fully registered with the appropriate professional or regulatory body (e.g., HCPC). To use appropriate clinical understanding in assessing, jointly with colleagues in the multidisciplinary team, children, adolescents, and their families to formulate their strengths and difficulties and to determine the most suitable treatment plan.

To collaborate with colleagues in CYPMHS and in the care pathway to provide comprehensive assessments of children, young persons, and families, especially where there are high dysfunction and entrenched difficulties within the family system.

To deliver therapeutic interventions considering cultural, racial, religious, and sexual orientation differences.

To conduct clinical assessments of children and young people with severe, complex, and persistent mental health issues.

To undertake observations of children in school settings as part of broader assessments.

To provide therapeutic interventions, including parent/child work, group work, parent support, psychoeducation, and brief individual work with children and young people.
