Job Description:

Are you an experienced Psychologist looking to take the next step in your career? This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a multi-disciplinary psychological therapies team at Potters Bar Hospital, covering adult acute inpatient wards with 23 beds.

The post holder will provide specialist psychological assessments and interventions for adult patients with acute mental health needs, using a formulation-driven and trauma-informed care model. Reporting to the Lead Psychologist, responsibilities include individual and group interventions, assessments, MDT collaboration, risk assessments, staff reflective practice facilitation, and training delivery.

You should have experience managing a caseload, assessing complex needs, and delivering specialist psychological treatments. This role offers professional development and career growth opportunities, with numerous training courses available.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assess referrals and provide initial assessments
  • Deliver high-quality assessment and therapeutic interventions
  • Work with service users with complex presentations
  • Formulate and implement treatment plans based on psychological understanding and evidence-based practices
  • Maintain professional and legal responsibility for clinical work
  • Uphold high standards of care according to HCPC guidelines and policies

Requirements:

  • Psychology degree recognized by BPS
  • HCPC registration
  • Understanding of evidence-based psychological practice
  • Experience in psychiatric settings
  • Inpatient work experience is preferred but not essential
