A public health service in London is seeking a psychological professional to deliver specialist assessments and therapy for children and young people. The role requires experience in neurodevelopmental assessments and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team. You will provide care planning and consultations to enhance clients' mental health outcomes. The position offers a flexible working environment and a range of therapeutic interventions.
To join the multi-disciplinary CAMH Service in the delivery of mental health care to children and young people and their families, including involvement in the multi-disciplinary assessment pathways. Post holder will provide specialist psychological and/or mental health input to children and young people and their families. The post holder will provide specialist psychological assessment and therapy. Experience conducting specialist assessments for neurodevelopmental concerns (e.g. ASD and ADHD) is desirable. They will also offer advice and consultation on clients\' psychological care to colleagues from all disciplines and to individuals external to CAMHS working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team\'s policies and procedures.
The Brent CAMH service is based at Monks Park Clinic, Wembley. The team is a large multi-disciplinary group providing accessible, flexible and responsive local service for children, using the range of therapeutic interventions including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, systemic and family therapy, Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy, Psychoeducation, DBT groups, multi-family work and Positive Behaviour Support. Brent CAMHS comprises four main sub-teams: Emotional Disorders Team; Neurodevelopmental Team; Enhanced Treatment Team; and Learning Disabilities (LD-CAMHS). The post holder may travel to other parts of the catchment area and/or wider service and trust as necessary, including community-based work in schools. The service operates Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:00 with some flexibility to work extended hours to meet service needs.
To evaluate and decide on treatment options considering theoretical and therapeutic models and highly complex factors related to historical, environmental and developmental processes shaping the client, family or group. The post holder will provide care to clients, liaising with family members and others involved in care, including CAMHS colleagues, frontline workers in health, education, Social Services, inpatient services and the voluntary sector. You will exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment and treatment of clients managed by psychologically based standard care plans. You will provide specialist psychological and/or mental health advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals, contributing to clients\' formulation, diagnosis and treatment plans.
