A healthcare institution in Plymouth is seeking a Clinical Coding Training Lead to provide high-quality training and improve clinical coding standards. The ideal candidate will be ACC qualified and have completed the NHS England Clinical Coding Trainer Program. This role offers a hybrid working model and the opportunity to impact patient care data quality.
CLINICAL CODING TRAINING LEAD POSITION ATTRACTING A 15% RETENTION AND RECRUITMENT PREMIUM
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Clinical Coding Department as an ACC qualified Clinical Coder at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust (UHP).
Core duties are the provision of an efficient and high-quality clinical coding training service, as well as meeting Trust deadlines associated with clinical coding. We are currently implementing an EPR go-live on July 26 and offer hybrid working with more options once UHP is fully digital.
Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, Priority and At Risk status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who have recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.
The post-holder will provide support for the improvement of clinically coded data collection across the Trust and will assist the Head of Clinical Coding and the Clinical Coding Training and Audit Manager in acting as a point of reference for Clinicians and other staff groups.
The post-holder will be responsible for managing and providing clinical coding training throughout the department. To deliver full training programmes with recommendations to Coders and Managerial staff towards the improvement of clinical standards throughout the Trust. The post-holder will assist the Head of Clinical Coding and the Clinical Coding Training and Audit Manager in providing advice and support for clinical coding issues.
