A healthcare provider in York is seeking a Clinical Coder/Summariser to join their team. The post holder must be able to provide a high quality,professional clinical administrative service to patients, doctors, staff,colleagues, health service professionals and others as well as to act withinyour professional boundaries, supporting a team of clinicians in general practice.
Experience preferred but full training will be given to theright candidate
Some flexibility is required as you will sometimes need to work additional/alternative hours to cover for colleagues.

As a well-established NHS GP surgery, our main practice issituated within the historic York City Walls, just a short walk from localshops and points of interest. We also operate two other practice sites, SouthBank and East Parade.
The role of Read coder is fundamental to the smooth runningof the practice and has a unique role in ensuring accurate patient records areavailable for Clinical colleagues.
Liaise with clinical colleagues to ensure that correctinformation is recorded for patients and that they are aware of actionsrequired by the GP.
The post holder will be responsible for reviewing incomingmail and documents on patients' records ensuring this is accurately recorded indate order
Collating and actioning requests for medical andInsurance reports includes liaising with all departments as well as outsideagencies and invoicing
Ensure correspondence, reports, results etc. are assembledaccording to practice protocol, managing workload with an organised andmethodical approach.
Communicate effectively with a range of colleagues andpatients.
Scanning documents, ensuring that they are recordedaccurately and on the correct patient record.
Work accurately when reviewing clinical documentation andfollow clear protocols to ensure that clinical details are recorded accuratelyon patient records.
Prioritise your workload on a daily basis.
Work both independently and within a small team.
Remain calm under pressure.
Adopt a flexible working approach to ensure that theclinical coding team is staffed during periods of absences and sickness whenrequired.
