Job summary

Q1 Technologies, Inc. is seeking a skilled Clinical Coder to translate patient records into ICD-10 and OPCS-4 codes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with national standards.

The role supports healthcare reporting, reimbursement, and quality improvement through detailed data abstraction and coding excellence. The successful candidate will review inpatient records, liaise with clinicians, and maintain high standards of data quality.

Qualifications

• NCCQ Accreditation (ACC) is required.
• Clinical Coding Standards Refresher training within last 3 years.
• Degree or equivalent training and experience.
• Anatomy & Physiology or Human biology qualification.
• Attendance at NHS Digital approved coding workshops or specialty courses.

Responsibilities

• Review patient records to identify diagnoses and procedures for coding.
• Assign ICD-10 and OPCS-4 codes per guidelines.
• Code complex cases and liaise with clinicians for accuracy.
• Maintain high coding quality and productivity.
• Explain coding decisions to clinical and administrative staff.
• Collaborate with clinicians to clarify diagnoses and procedures.
• Plan workload and meet deadlines.
• Identify and report data quality issues in Trust systems.
