PRIMUS Global Solutions (PRIMUS UK & Europe) is seeking an experienced Clinical Coder to review patient medical records and assign accurate ICD-10 and OPCS-4 codes in accordance with national standards.

You will work in a hospital setting with both paper and electronic records, liaising with clinicians to ensure coding accuracy, quality, and timely monthly targets.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of inpatient clinical coding experience in a hospital setting.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10 and OPCS-4 coding classifications and standards.
• Experience working with paper-based and electronic clinical records.
• Good understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.

We are looking for an experienced Clinical Coder responsible for reviewing patient medical records and accurately assigning diagnosis and procedure codes using ICD-10 and OPCS-4 classification systems, ensuring coding accuracy and compliance with national clinical coding standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review inpatient clinical records and identify diagnoses, co-morbidities, complications, and procedures.


• Assign accurate ICD-10 and OPCS-4 codes in line with national coding standards.


• Handle complex clinical specialties and deceased patient records.


• Liaise with clinicians to clarify clinical information and ensure coding accuracy.


• Maintain coding quality, productivity, and monthly targets.


• Identify and report data quality issues and ensure accurate patient activity records.


• Support colleagues with coding guidance and contribute to continuous quality improvement.

Mandatory Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 2+ years of inpatient clinical coding experience in a hospital setting.


• Strong knowledge of ICD-10 and OPCS-4 coding classifications and standards.


• Experience working with paper-based and electronic clinical records.


• Good understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology..
