Job summary

Airedale NHS Foundation Trust seeks a Medical Laboratory Assistant in Clinical Chemistry (Band 2) to join a 24/7 service. The role includes rotating shifts and flexibility to meet service needs. The successful candidate will work with Biomedical Scientists to support the pathology department and gain development opportunities, though IBMS registration is not included in this role.

Qualifications

• Experience of following SOPs.
• Previous laboratory experience is desirable.
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation and COSHH principles.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a busy clinical chemistry setting.
• Organisational skills and ability to prioritise work.

Responsibilities

• Answer telephone queries from users and locate samples.
• Data entry and maintenance of outstanding worklists.
• General housekeeping including cleaning and disposal of laboratory waste.
• Work across all sections within the chemistry department (automated, manual, admin).
