Join us to apply for the Clinical Catering Assistant (Bank) role at Parexel.

Come and join our team at Parexel’s Early Phase Clinical Unit in Harrow as a Clinical Catering Assistant.

This is a BANK role offering flexible shifts with up to 37.5 hours per week, including rotational shifts that cover weekends.

Our Early Phase Unit is located in Northwick Park Hospital and is staffed 24/7 by our highly trained team. It features state-of-the-art monitoring technologies and provides a safe, comfortable environment for clinical trial participants, including recreational facilities, a screening department, wards, a laboratory, and a pharmacy.

The main purpose of the job is to distribute food and beverages to clinical trial participants and maintain the catering area.

Job Responsibilities
  • Providing meals to participants
  • Coordinating and ordering food from caterers in cooperation with the study team
  • Distributing food and beverages according to study protocol and internal requirements
  • Supervising volunteers during mealtimes and assisting as needed
  • Ensuring menus are checked by the Dietician for macro-nutrients
Following Study Protocol
  • Ensuring meals are correct and distributed on time
  • Documenting meal and beverage start and stop times
  • Recording beverage distribution times and volumes
  • Weighing food before and after serving as required
  • Estimating percentage consumption when needed
Maintaining Catering Area
  • Storing food and beverages per storage requirements
  • Performing quality checks on expiry dates
  • Cleaning and maintaining kitchen and equipment
  • Maintaining stock levels
Unit Support
  • Setting up hospitality arrangements and overseeing food orders
  • Performing additional tasks as directed by the manager and team
Skills & Experience
  • Experience in restaurant or canteen work or equivalent
  • Basic knowledge of English
  • Computer skills (Windows Office)
  • Ability to work under pressure and multitask
  • Ability to work shifts, including early, late, weekends, and holidays
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to operate kitchen machinery safely
