Job summary

University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust seeks an Associate Practitioner to join the Clinical Biochemistry department of the Blood Sciences Laboratory. The post will involve working across University Hospitals Dorset in Blood Sciences at Poole and the Dorset Pathology Hub at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital.

Qualifications

Higher education/NVQ Level 3/A Levels (2) incl. Biology or Chemistry, or Access to Higher Education (Science).
Previous biomedical laboratory experience desirable.
Participation in the out of hours rota is a requirement of the post.
Base Location: Royal Bournemouth Hospital.
Interview Date: Tuesday, 22nd September 2026.

Responsibilities

Under HCPC registered supervision, assist in analysis of blood, body fluids, tissues and cells to determine disease presence and monitor treatment.
Assist in supervision of Healthcare Support Workers and maintain running of specialist equipment.
