Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Associate Psychologist to join our mental health care team at HMP Kirkham, a Category D open prison for males, located near Preston, Lancashire. This is a brand new role offering a challenging and rewarding environment. You will support and enhance the psychological care of patients, providing psychological assessments and low to medium intensity psychological interventions.

Hours: This is a part time role, 15 hours per week, working 2 days per week (flexible on the days) 08:00 - 16:00 or 09:00 - 17:00.

Salary: This position is pro rata; £42,094 - £47,466 per year, depending on experience.

Eligibility: Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK and, due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

Main duties of the job

• Work with the wider mental health team to identify patients who may benefit from psychological intervention
• Manage a caseload of patients, providing comprehensive psychological assessment, including risk assessment, and psychological formulations to support patients
• Identify and deliver appropriate 1-1 and group interventions to patients in line with the Psychological & Talking Therapies Service (PTTS) pathways and in line with guidance from the registered psychologist
• Maintain accurate clinical records
• Identify and provide opportunities for other members of the multidisciplinary team to gain understanding of how psychological knowledge can support their work with patients
• Contribute to audit, research and service evaluation projects

Qualifications
