Band 6 Clinical Associate in Psychology/Senior Well Being Practitioner

Full Time - Fixed Term 12 Month Maternity leave Cover

Responsibilities
  • Provide psychological interventions to service users in the Mental Health Support Team in Schools (MHST) in City & Hackney CAMHS under the supervision of a qualified psychologist.
  • Work with people who use our services to develop a shared understanding of the complex issues they are facing, how they cope, and the impact on their mental and physical health and well-being and those around them (psychological assessment and formulation).
  • Explore social, psychological, therapies and other potential options which may improve health outcomes and help them achieve agreed goals.
  • Provide psychological-based provision at individual, group, parent and family levels through to teams, systems and community levels, using a range of theoretical models with an emphasis on systemic and ecological approaches.
  • Collaborate with experts-by-experience, local communities, and cross-sector partners to co-produce and co-develop services; liaise with GPs, primary and secondary care mental health services, schools, colleges and third sector organizations.

Additional Notes

The postholder would be expected to work closely with experts-by-experience, local communities, Community, Voluntary and Social Enterprises, to co-produce and co-develop services. The post holder will primarily be involved in partnership working, liaising with various stakeholders in the system (e.g., GPs, primary and secondary care mental health services, schools and colleges and the third sector). The post holder will also be involved in raising awareness of the complexity of health and social challenges many people face and the impact this has on mental health & well-being and vice versa. A key aim is to help young people and their families build resilience and feel more connected to their community, and to instill a sense of belonging.

The post holder will provide psychological assessments, psychological formulations and deliver psychological interventions to the communities we serve. Psychological-based provision is offered within a range of theoretical models with an emphasis on systemic and ecological models.
