Job summary

InHealth Group Limited is hiring a Clinical Assistant at Eastbourne to welcome patients through their MRI journey and to support the clinical and clerical teams. The role is primarily patient facing, with a mix of administrative duties and data entry to ensure smooth daily operations.

The position requires empathy, excellent customer service, and strong communication skills. A flexible, team-oriented approach and the willingness to learn are essential for success in a busy diagnostic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and guide patients from arrival to departure.
  • Escort patients to the MRI area and explain procedures.
  • Complete pre-scan data protection/consent forms and health questionnaires.
  • Input patient data into the management system accurately.
  • Support administrative tasks including booking and payment processing.
  • Train in cannulation if required and monitor patient condition after procedures.

Job description

InHealth sees more than 5 million patients each year and diagnostic imaging is one of the busiest services that we provide. Our fully integrated imaging services offer increased capacity for NHS trusts, and convenient, fast access to services for patients.

As part of our clinical support team at Eastbourne you will be essential in ensuring our patients receive the best standard of care from arrival through to departure, ensuring our patients feel informed and engaged throughout their diagnostic pathway. The Clinical Assistant is primarily responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the working day by welcoming patients into the clinical area and preparing them for their MRI scan. You will also be involved with administrative tasks to provide support to the clinical and clerical teams, however will be primarily patient facing.

Hours- 4x9hr Hour shifts on a rota Monday- Sunday. Shift pattern could vary to support business need if required

Start Date: December 2026

What you are responsible for:

  • Welcoming patients in a professional, courteous manner, coordinating their arrival through to departure
  • Escorting patients to and from the clinical area as required, explaining the procedure in full and ensuring any questions or concerns are managed professionally
  • Completing the patient's pre-scan data protection/consent form and health and safety questionnaire (where applicable)
  • Assessing and monitoring the patient's condition after procedure, ensuring that any changes are reported to the relevant staff immediately
  • Ensuring patient and customer focus is central to the success of the MRI department by delivering an excellent level of patient care throughout
  • Accurately entering all relevant patient data into the patient management system
  • Train in cannulation if required
  • Managing administrative tasks within the unit that include:
    • Dealing with telephone, direct and face to face enquiries
    • Booking clinically validated appointments on the internal system
    • Ensuring all payments are invoiced promptly and accurately.

  • The ability to work independently and as part of a multi skilled team
  • Flexibility in working patterns to fulfil site requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a capability to present information in a logical and efficient manner
  • Strong administration skills with an ability to pick up new systems quickly
  • The passion to attend courses to enhance their knowledge and skills for the role required.

  • Experience in a similar healthcare role, delivering hands on patient care, or have the passion to learn and work in a busy healthcare environment following working in a customer focused environment
  • Proficient administration skills, such as experience using Microsoft Packages
  • Working in a fast-paced environment.
