Exciting opportunity to support the Victims’ Payment Board (VPB) in delivering the clinical assessment service for the Troubles Permanent Disablement Payment Scheme. We are recruiting experienced nurses & allied health professionals with expertise in mental health or psychiatric backgrounds and more than four years’ post-registration experience.

Benefits

• A basic salary of £38,500, with a career pathway program increasing it up to £41,400 plus up to 10% bonus
• Initial 6 weeks’ fully paid training and ongoing support
• Flexible work patterns – work between 8am and 8pm, contracted for 7.5 hours per day, 37.5 hours per week
• Hybrid working – primarily from home, with clinic visits as required

Responsibilities

• Conduct face-to-face or virtual assessments, reviewing medical evidence to determine the permanence of the applicant’s condition and their percentage disablement
• Proactively seek additional medical evidence from GPs, healthcare professionals, or services to support TPS applications
• Analyze clinical information and supporting evidence to prepare structured, evidence-based reports for the Department of Justice (DoJ) and the Victims Payment Board (VPB)
• Compile comprehensive reports including detailed history, justification, and conclusions to aid decision-making by the VPB

Criteria

• Minimum of 4 years’ post-registration experience with completed AYE & PIP qualifications
• Fully registered without sanctions or conditions with NISCC
• Based in Northern Ireland
• Background in Mental Health or Psychiatric specialty
• Ability to work efficiently, manage conversations, and adhere to timescales
• Ability to relate to diverse socio-economic, racial, religious, and cultural backgrounds
• Strong report writing skills, proficient in IT systems
