We are proud to be accredited by JobsAware and Cyber Essentials (Plus), a member of the Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC), and a trusted partner on the HealthTrust Europe and Workforce Alliance frameworks—ensuring our services remain ethical, transparent, aligned to the six NHS Employers Check Standards, and grounded in robust clinical governance and quality standards.

With a secure, fast-track digital compliance process, trusted programme delivery infrastructure, and dedicated support from onboarding through to deployment, we make meaningful health and care work accessible, seamless, and professionally rewarding.

The Role

We are seeking a Consultant (Post-CCT) with subject-matter expertise in Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, HIV and/or Haemophilia to join our growing network of Clinical Advisors. This role supports a landmark government-backed programme providing clinical advice into complex historical treatment-related cases.

You will contribute by reviewing individual cases, participating in virtual case discussions, and preparing structured clinical written reports grounded in evidence and guided by programme principles of fairness, transparency, and integrity. While not a patient-facing role, your involvement will directly support people infected and affected by historic healthcare interventions—ensuring their experiences are assessed through a clinically robust and trauma-informed lens.

All work is conducted remotely and flexibly around your availability, with support provided by our specialist Case Coordination team from initial onboarding through to case allocation.

Key Details:

  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Duration: Ongoing (part of a multi-year national programme, with casework allocated on an ad-hoc weekly basis)
  • Rota: Self-managed (fully flexible around existing commitments, with virtual meetings scheduled by mutual agreement and all work delivered within agreed deadlines)
  • Additional Information: This role forms part of a nationally significant, government-backed clinical review programme supporting individuals historically impacted by blood-borne infections. Advisors will engage in evidence-based case review, drawing on subject-matter expertise to assess cases on the balance of probabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct evidence-based clinical case reviews, focusing on historical blood-borne infections and treatment contexts.
  • Participate in virtual multidisciplinary case discussions to inform claim assessments.
  • Provide clear, balanced written clinical advice based on the balance of probabilities, including in cases with incomplete or fragmented records.
  • Maintain high standards of clinical professionalism, objectivity, and ethical integrity throughout.
  • Follow established protocols and contribute to a transparent, fair, and trauma-informed assessment process.

Key Requirements

  • Professional Registration: Active GMC registration with inclusion on the Specialist Register (Consultant or GP, Post-CCT).
  • Experience: Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following: Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, HIV, or Haemophilia. Familiarity with historical clinical contexts (1970s onward) and experience in balance of probabilities assessments.
  • Right to Work: You must hold valid Right to Work in the UK. ProMedical does not offer visa sponsorship.
