Job summary

Join us in a senior clinical leadership role where you will help shape the future of podiatry services within the county of Ceredigion with Hywel Dda Health Board. As a recognised clinical expert, you will lead the development and maintenance of high-quality clinical standards, driving excellence in practice, service delivery and patient outcomes. Working closely with colleagues across the Health Board, you will play a pivotal role in service improvement, performance management and the implementation of innovative, evidence‑based approaches to care. Main duties of the job

This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced podiatrist to work as a highly specialist autonomous practitioner, providing expert assessment, diagnosis and treatment for patients with complex vascular, diabetes and musculoskeletal conditions. You will manage a varied and challenging caseload, using advanced clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice to develop and deliver personalised care plans that achieve the best possible outcomes for patients. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate closely with GPs, Consultants, Orthopaedic and Vascular teams and other healthcare professionals to support admission avoidance, complex community care and effective patient pathways. You will also provide specialist clinical advice, contribute to the development of service models across Hywel Dda, and play an important role in ensuring high‑quality, patient‑centred care. Alongside your clinical responsibilities, you will support service improvement through audit, research and evaluation, helping to shape and enhance specialist podiatry services across the Health Board while promoting best practice and innovation. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Podiatric Medicine and registration with the HCPC.
• Local anaesthesia certificate.
• Master's Degree or equivalent level of specialist experience in area of clinical expertise.
• Evidence of postgraduate study appropriate for delivering advanced practice such as independent prescribing, injection therapy, diagnostic ultrasound.
• Certificate Health Education or Promotion MSc modules in podiatric medicine in a specialist area.
• Member of the College of Podiatrists.
• Evidence of leadership courses/ qualifications

• Evidence of MDT working.
• Experience in consultant led clinics
• Significant experience working as an autonomous practitioner.
