Clinical Academic Link Tutor for Faculty of Research and Clinical Education

Are you keen to join a multi-disciplinary team providing support within the clinical areas to staff and students in pre-registration education to develop evidenced based care and advocating research practice? The Faculty of Research and Clinical Education at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust are looking to recruit a Clinical Academic Link tutor to support our students. This exciting role will work in partnership with Wolverhampton University.

Main duties of the job

The primary purpose of the role will be to facilitate and promote nursing and clinical practice standards within the divisions and across the trust to assure the quality of placement learning provision for students studying at the University of Wolverhampton is in accordance with professional body requirements. Successful candidates will be based 50% in clinical practice (WHT) and 50% in university, ensuring good partnership working and collaboration, whilst bridging the theory practice gap.

It provides inpatient and outpatient services at the Manor Hospital as well as a wide range of services in the community. Walsall Manor houses the full range of district general hospital services under one roof. The £170 million development was completed in 2010, and ongoing upgrades ensure the Trust now has state-of-the-art facilities, including a Critical Care Unit, Neonatal Unit, Obstetric Theatre, and Integrated Assessment Unit. Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The post holders will assist the Research and Development Manager in ensuring that clinical trials and research are delivered to a high quality, effectively, efficiently and compliant with GCP and other legislative requirements. The post holder will be a point of contact and resource for research within the clinical areas.

We are looking for an enthusiastic registrant who would like to use their skills supporting learners to develop best clinical practice.

Qualifications
  • NMC Registration
  • Evidence of continuous personal, professional and academic development to degree or equivalent level
  • MSc or evidence of level 7 qualification
  • PGCE or evidence of Teaching/Training experience
  • Research qualification or equivalent experience (significant experience preferable)
  • Adult/ Child on NMC register
