BASE71 Barnsley Youth Zone is seeking a Sessional Youth Worker for our climbing wall to deliver engaging, safe sessions for young people aged 8-19 (up to 25 with SEND). The role is on-site in Barnsley and part-time, with inductions, supervision, and progression opportunities.

You will hold or quickly achieve a Climbing Wall Instructor qualification, run development sessions, and help NICAS awards while prioritising health and safety and creating a welcoming environment that motivates young

Qualifications

• Climbing Wall Instructor qualification or the experience to quickly achieve this.
• Experience in climbing instruction and wall safety checks.
• Knowledge of health & safety in a climbing environment and experience working with young people, including those with SEND.
• Energy, patience, and the ability to inspire confidence and enthusiasm in every session.

Responsibilities

• Deliver fun, safe, and challenging climbing sessions for young people aged 8-19 (or up to 25 with SEND).
• Carry out inductions and supervised climbs; support NICAS awards.
• Run developmental sessions and create a welcoming environment that motivates progression.
