Join us at Barclays as a Vice President in the Climate Portfolio Management team within Sustainable Finance. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing traditional data used by the bank to make financial decisions through the lens of climate sustainability. Considering regulatory, commercial, and sustainability goals, you will deliver and communicate clear strategic insights that can be utilized by the business across various deal cycles. This includes working with senior leaders to understand requirements and assess data from multiple sources to achieve business outcomes.

To be successful as a Vice President in Climate Portfolio, you'll need:

• Technical experience using Python to analyze data
• Experience working with large data sets and data architecture
• Proven ability to understand business requirements, identify problems, and deliver outcomes
• Investment Banking product knowledge and/or experience

Additional valued skills include:

• Understanding or interest in sustainability related to finance
• Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple stakeholders
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a relevant field
• Strong understanding of professional ethics and regulatory environment

The role is based in our London Office.

Purpose of the role

To support the management of the relationship lending portfolio for the Investment Bank, focusing on maximizing return on equity and related business cases.

Accountabilities

• Partner with Banking and Markets to evaluate client needs and ensure value generation for shareholders.
• Manage loan portfolios, act as gatekeeper, and support capital commitment processes.
• Perform diligence and assist in structuring and negotiating terms for new capital commitments.
• Monitor credits and structure/approve amendments.
• Manage loan sale and CDS hedging recommendations.
