Job summary

Forestry and Land Scotland invites applications for the Climate Change Advisor (FLS) role. The post reports to the Climate Change Manager and collaborates with colleagues across FLS to embed climate action in daily activities.

The role is based within a national Planning and Environment function, leading initiatives to reduce emissions, adapt to climate change, and drive carbon capture targets across Scotland. It is a fixed-term contract.

Qualifications

• In-depth understanding of climate mitigation and adaptation risks facing Scotland and their impact on natural and built environments.
• Experience with processing complex data and information.
• Strong interpersonal, influencing and stakeholder management skills at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support initiatives, processes and projects to help FLS achieve emission reduction and adaptation targets.
• Engage with cross-functional groups and influence across the organization.
• Help shape and scale up climate change work across the national team and regions.
