Carmarthenshire County Council is seeking a Climate Change and Energy Transformation Manager to support strategic climate initiatives and lead sustainability projects. This permanent full-time role involves collaboration with various stakeholders, management of renewable energy projects, and securing funding to enhance the Authority's energy transition to low carbon technologies.

We are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Climate Change and Energy Transformation Manager to support the Sustainability and Natural Environment Manager in the strategic development, planning, delivery, and management of all actions in response to the council's climate change initiatives. The successful candidate will support the strategic management of the sustainability team and lead the Project Team established to deliver the South-West Wales Local Area Energy Plans (LAEPs). Additionally, the manager will work with service areas to develop the Authority's renewable energy portfolio and secure additional funding to support the transition of the Authority's energy supply to low carbon technologies.
The Climate Change and Energy Transformation Manager will collaborate closely with other departments, regional partners, national governments, and communities to promote policies and programmes addressing climate change. The role also includes facilitating greater alignment between actions supporting the council's declared nature and climate change emergencies, monitoring and reporting on Climate Change and Energy Management functions, and identifying and securing additional funding to support the Council's climate change policies and programmes. Additionally, the manager will represent the Authority at local and regional levels on climate change and energy matters.
