Job summary

Burberry is seeking a Climate and Operations Manager to join its Corporate Responsibility team in London. You will lead emissions reduction initiatives, manage energy procurement and reporting obligations while supporting the broader Climate Transition Plan across Burberry's operations and supply chain.

You will collaborate with internal functions and external partners to drive decarbonisation, monitor energy data, and oversee ESG disclosures including CDP and TCFD.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of climate and energy reporting frameworks and disclosure requirements (e.g. SECR, ESOS, GHG Protocol).
• Proven experience delivering decarbonisation, renewable energy or environmental improvement programmes with measurable outcomes.
• Excellent project management and cross‑functional collaboration skills across diverse business functions.
• Commercially minded sustainability professional balancing environmental ambition with operational practicality.

Responsibilities

• Manage delivery of Scope 1 & 2 targets and renewable energy commitment, including procurement and retirement of RECs globally.
• Support Burberry’s environmental targets and policies through targeted projects and Internal Carbon Price rollout.
• Collect and analyze global energy, waste and water data on a quarterly basis with a network of data providers.
• Ensure compliance with energy‑related reporting regulations (SECR, ESOS, EU EED).
• Identify site‑level physical climate risks to inform environmental risk management and reporting.
• Integrate energy and GHG data with relevant data management platforms.
• Support broader ESG disclosures (CDP, TCFD, Burberry Annual Report).
• Engage with external stakeholders and industry groups to monitor decarbonisation efforts.

JOB PURPOSE

As Climate and Operations Manager, you will be an essential part of our Corporate Responsibility team. You will work with multiple internal functions and external partners across Burberry’s operations (including our distribution centres, factories, offices and stores) to develop and implement actions that support the delivery of Burberry’s Climate Transition Plan and environmental targets.You will be responsible for meeting Burberry’s energy‑related disclosure obligations and for managing Burberry’s renewable electricity procurement strategy. In addition, you support the Corporate Responsibility team’s wider efforts to deliver Burberry’s Climate Transition Plan and environmental targets beyond Burberry’s own operations, and to meet broader ESG disclosure requirements.Reports into Burberry’s Director of Climate, Nature, and ESG Reporting.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage the delivery and ongoing development of Burberry’s Scope1 and2 Science Based Targets and renewable energy commitment, including leading processes to procure and retire renewable energy certificates globally.
• Support the delivery and ongoing development and Burberry’s wider environmental targets and policies through targeted projects and actions, including the roll‑out of Burberry’s Internal Carbon Price and efforts to manage the environmental impacts of business travel.
• Manage the collection and analysis of global operational energy, waste and water data on a quarterly basis, supported by an internal network of data providers.
• Manage Burberry’s compliance with energy‑related reporting regulations such as SECR, UK ESOS and EU EED.
• Manage the ongoing identification and assessment of site‑level physical climate risks across the Burberry estate to inform Burberry’s environmental risk management and reporting.
• Support the ongoing integration of energy and greenhouse gas emissions data with relevant data management platforms.
• Support the preparation of broader ESG disclosures, such as CDP, TCFD, and the sustainability section of the Burberry Annual Report and Accounts.
• Engage with external stakeholders such as key industry working groups, consultancies, and NGOs, and monitor wider industry decarbonisation efforts

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Strong knowledge of climate and energy reporting frameworks, legislation and disclosure requirements, including climate and energy regulations (e.g. SECR, ESOS, GHG Protocol).
• Proven experience delivering decarbonisation, renewable energy or environmental improvement programmes with measurable outcomes.
• Excellent project management and cross‑functional collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across diverse business functions.
• Commercially minded sustainability professional able to balance environmental ambition with operational practicality and business priorities.
• Experience of site‑level energy, water and/or waste auditing (desired but not essential)
• Experience with LEED, BREEAM, ISO50001 and/or ISO14001 (desired but not essential)
• Knowledge of carbon pricing mechanisms and the voluntary carbon market (desired but not essential)
