Job summary

The City of London-based local authority is recruiting 4x Client-Side Project Managers to support housing development, regeneration and major works projects, delivering improvements across social housing and community schemes.

You will oversee governance, contract management and delivery from planning to completion, coordinating with residents, leaseholders and external stakeholders while keeping projects on time, on budget and compliant.

Client-Side Project Manager

Salary: 53,200 - 72,000 per annum depending on experience

We are recruiting on behalf of a local authority in central London for 4x client-side Project Managers to support the delivery of housing development and major works projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a customer-focused professional to join a collaborative team delivering improvements across social housing, regeneration, refurbishment and community-focused schemes.

This Project Manager position would suit someone with strong client-side project experience, excellent stakeholder management skills and a genuine commitment to improving homes and neighbourhoods. The successful Project Manager will play a key role in governance, contract management and the successful delivery of projects from planning through to completion.

Day to day of the role

• Support the delivery of housing development, estate improvement and major works projects.
• Provide client-side project management across a varied programme of social housing and community schemes.
• Assist with governance processes, reporting and project controls to ensure effective decision‑making.
• Manage and monitor contracts, consultants and contractors to support successful project outcomes.
• Work closely with internal teams, residents, leaseholders and external stakeholders.
• Track project progress, risks, budgets and key milestones, escalating issues where required.
• Help ensure projects are delivered to agreed quality, compliance and performance standards.
• Contribute to a customer‑focused approach that keeps residents and service users at the centre of delivery.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Previous project management experience, ideally within housing, construction, regeneration or major works.
• Knowledge of supporting the delivery of new build development projects and property improvement programmes.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Experience of client-side governance, contract management and contractor liaison.
• A customer‑focused approach with strong drive, initiative and enthusiasm.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a busy and fast‑paced environment.
• Understanding of social housing or public sector environments would be advantageous.
• Successful applicants will be required to complete a standard DBS check.
