Client Services Accountant | Derby | Full Time, 37.5 hours per week | Hybrid working – 3 days in the office, 2 days working from home | £25,000 - £40,000 D.O.E.

Our client is a leading firm of Chartered Certified Accountants based in Derby. They are a team of qualified financial executives with broad expertise across all areas of accounting, business, and the all-important area of tax.

Are you the right person for the job?

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Client Services Accountant
• Experienced in bookkeeping and preparing VAT returns
• Skilled in preparing annual accounts, corporation tax returns (CT600), and client self-assessment returns
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Confident in liaising directly with clients and visiting client premises
• Proficient in Sage, Taxcalc, Xero, QuickBooks, and Bright Manager
• Able to meet monthly targets and strict deadlines
• Comfortable providing training and support to junior staff and clients
• Self-motivated and able to work independently using initiative
• Willingness to roll up your sleeves and get involved wherever needed
• A proactive team player with a positive attitude and collaborative mindset
• A flexible and adaptable approach to work and changing priorities

What will your role look like?

• Process client bookkeeping data and prepare control account reconciliations
• Produce VAT returns and management accounts with commentary for review
• Prepare draft accounts and tax returns, handle client queries, and arrange meetings
• Finalise accounts and returns, ensuring timely submission to relevant authorities
• Provide reception cover and assist with invoicing
• Support junior staff development and deliver client training on accounting software
• Maintain excellent communication and work collaboratively within the team
