Crane & Johnston, a friendly chartered practice in Newquay, seeks an Accountant / Client Manager to work with private clients, sole traders and SMEs. You will manage portfolios, supervise staff, develop junior team members and maintain client relationships while preparing accounts and tax returns.

The role emphasizes proactive client service, collaboration, and ongoing professional development within a supportive team in Cornwall.

Qualifications

• UK accounting practice experience preferred with relevant qualifications.
• Strong communication, organisation and team-working abilities required.
• Ambitious and motivated to develop in private practice.

Responsibilities

• Manage portfolio of clients and department.
• Supervise and review work of other staff.
• Coach and develop junior team members.
• Develop and maintain relationships with colleagues and clients.
• Accounts and tax return preparation.
• Bookkeeping and VAT return preparation.
• Provide general support to colleagues and clients.
• Attend training courses and adhere to KPI guidelines.
