This role will be exceptionally exciting to a candidate looking to make use of existing qualifications and manage their own client portfolio in a rapidly growing, innovative and ‘modern’ business.
Key responsibilities:
To prepare, send and submit accounts & tax returns for our clients, including Sole Traders, Partnerships and Limited Companies.
To communicate with clients via phone, email, social media and in person, including chasing records.
To ensure all internal and statutory deadlines are met e.g. – HMRC, SLA etc.
To onboard new clients and integrate them into your portfolio – this will include bookkeeping, compliance etc to then be handed over to the relevant department.
To assess and advise clients on their tax position.
To optimise and plan the tax efficiency of clients.
To review and advise clients on advisory level to include cashflow, budgets, pricing etc.
To complete, review and prepare book-keeping, VAT returns and CIS.
To maintain electronic filing of books and records both internally as well as management of client administration and records.
To act as liaison between clients and HM Revenue & Customs to deal with and resolve queries.
To participate in activities necessary to support the smooth running of the office environment.
To manage and maintain your professional development and learning including any relevant CPD required by your professional body.
To ensure and update HMRC/Companies House statutory information is accurate.
To attend networking events where required.
To prepare and execute year end client meetings.
Internal and external training e.g., client bookkeeping training and as applicable as per the company values.
To carry out client fee reviews.
Must be able to prepare accounts & tax returns for clients, including Sole Traders, Partnerships and Limited Companies.
Must hold membership to a professional body (does not need to be a chartered body)
Be confident in providing direct advice to clients. Sound tax knowledge is a must.
Be an effective communicator, able to communicate at all levels across the company and to clients directly.
Experience working in accounting practice within the last 2 years with at least 3 years accounting practice experience overall.
Good standard of verbal and written English.
Proficient IT skills (Excel & Word essential).
A sound working knowledge of QuickBooks and Xero (desirable).

Hours per week: 40 hours per week. 36.50 of these hours to be worked during ‘core’ opening hours – Monday – Thursday, 9:00 – 17:00 and Friday 9:00 – 16:00 with a 30 minute unpaid lunch. The remaining 3.50 hours are to be worked remotely as appropriate.
