Job summary

Rob Emsley Specialist Accountancy Practice Recruitment is working with a highly regarded firm in Exeter to appoint a Manager who can take responsibility for a client portfolio, supervise and mentor a small team, and drive high-quality service.

You will review and prepare year-end financial statements and tax returns, be involved in business advisory work and tax planning, and develop junior staff while delivering clear, proactive client communication.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualification or nearing completion.
• Strong technical accounting skills in a practice environment.
• Experience managing client portfolios and supervising staff.
• Experience reviewing year-end financial statements and tax returns.
• Excellent interpersonal and client-facing skills.

Rob Emsley has been engaged by a very well respected and high performing firm to find their next recruit, a Manager who can take responsibility for a portfolio of clients whilst supervising and mentoring a small team.

This role will see you dealing with all aspects of client management, as well as taking a hands‑on role in reviewing and preparing year end financial statements and tax returns for a varied client portfolio. You will also be involved in business advisory work and tax planning, along with looking after and developing junior staff within the firm.

This role would fit a fully or very nearly qualified ACA or ACCA with very strong technical accounting skills, a strong track record in a practice environment, and the interpersonal skills to manage extensive client interaction.
