Job description

Who we are looking for:

Qualified applicants should have prior experience managing large programs, particularly in the context of a software business or professional services in financial services disciplines. Applicants should be at ease leading others with no hierarchical connection and should also be comfortable working in a high growth business, fast paced environment driving the firm's strategy and AlphaSM product capabilities. Applicants must demonstrate experience managing organizations through significant change and developing relationships at executive levels. Over time, this position could potentially evolve into increasing levels of responsibility within the wider Alpha Implementation organization.

Why this role is important to us:

The team you will be joining is a part of a global, cross-divisional group supporting State Street AlphaSM. State Street AlphaSM redefines the common definition of ‘alpha’ to mean powering better performance and outcomes at every point on the investment lifecycle. It is the first open platform from a single provider that connects the front, middle, and back office, harmonizing data, technology, and services across trusted providers to help our clients better manage their businesses. Join us if making your mark in an ever-changing, increasingly complex, and competitive industry is a challenge you are up for.

What you will be responsible for:
  1. Initiate and set goals for programs according to the strategic objectives of the organization.
  2. Oversee and approve program plans, including tasks for State Street, clients, and critical 3rd parties. Ensure milestones and dependencies support scope and timeline.
  3. Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and resource allocations.
  4. Establish project governance internally and with clients, ensuring frequent and appropriate communication.
  5. Drive execution with stakeholders and ensure proper governance and reporting.
  6. Devise evaluation strategies to monitor performance and identify improvements.
  7. Supervise program and project managers, providing feedback and resolving complex issues.
  8. Enhance efficiency and productivity of procedures and personnel.
  9. Lead large, complex client transformation programs working with C-Suite and STT executives to implement solutions aligned with business outcomes.
  10. Oversee delivery of programs, including management of solution management, workstream leadership, testing, change management, financials, operational readiness, and hypercare.
  11. Establish governance and drive stakeholder responsibilities, ensuring effective communication throughout the implementation lifecycle.
  12. Monitor program performance, provide feedback, and apply change and risk management principles.
  13. Collaborate with leaders across divisions and with external partners to deliver comprehensive business outcomes across multiple domains.
What we value:
  • Leadership and ability to unify teams across disciplines.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and relationship skills at all management levels.
  • Critical thinking, problem solving, decision making, and relationship management skills.
  • Alignment with Enterprise Culture traits: ownership, breaking silos, delivering results with integrity, continuous improvement, caring for colleagues, clients, and community.
  • Understanding of financial markets and investment management processes.
  • Degree in a financial or analytical discipline or relevant industry experience.
  • Experience leading large transformational programs, preferably within consulting.
  • Familiarity with Agile development, configurable systems, and testing techniques.
  • Willingness and ability to travel.
