Job Description:
As a Client Governance Analyst, you will be part of the Client Governance team in Edinburgh, focusing on providing excellent service to internal stakeholders and clients of FSI.
This role is integral to the safe and efficient delivery of all aspects of client governance, contained within the remit of the team. The role holder will be responsible for leading and executing the relevant tasks in accordance with established processes and procedures.
The role will provide, contribute to, or oversee - as applicable - the ‘project management’ for various activities within the team and broader FSI business. Therefore, a key purpose of the role is to be able to flex between analysis, delivery, and project management, as required.
About you
Your Experience
- Prior experience working within asset management or asset servicing firm, or business providing intermediated investment services
- First-hand experience of onboarding pooled and/or segregated clients
- Experience reviewing investment management agreements, platform agreements, rebate agreements and/or distribution agreements
- Experience of liaising with legal counsels and other internal/external stakeholders in drafting agreements
- Experience in initial and ongoing AML/KYC check on third-party distributors and segregated clients
- Experience of project work an advantage
Your Skills
- Ability to be the primary coordinator of an investor onboarding process involving multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to understand and track the fundamental obligations placed on an investment manager/fund management company as stipulated within wholesale client agreements
- Ability to communicate process changes and work across different functions to provide input and support to meet the objectives of Client Governance.
- Committed to quality, timely outcomes, managing objectives and delivery results against specific corporate and individual goals
- A committed team player with a willingness to challenge and be challenged.
- Have an analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail

About the role
- Key point of contact for client on-boarding activity – mandate and pooled fund clients – across FSI investment teams/products
- Ensure operational client on-boarding is delivered safely and efficiently, in conjunction with all other internal stakeholders, following established industry processes (e.g., transition management) and internal procedures, ensuring regulatory compliance at all times
- Manage all transition types for mandate clients and pooled fund clients, as well as ensuring smooth exit process when clients terminate their mandate/investment with our firm
- Manage the distribution agreement, platform agreement, rebate agreement and terms of business process by making use of effective workflow tools to reduce key manual processing and control risk
- Manage the investment management agreement (IMA) review and amendment process for all mandate clients
- Conducting due diligence on clients to assess potential risk
- Reviewing and verifying client identification and documentation
- Ensure all client side/comfort letters are managed in accordance with established processes
- Ensure all procedures documentation is regularly reviewed and updated, including process checklists
- Takes initiative in identifying processes that may require changesto streamline/enhance team efficiency.
- Maintain awareness of regulatory developments in overseenmarkets and adjustpolicies and procedures in line with changes or improvements
- Co-ordination of regular client change forums for all investment groups/client & distribution teams within EMEA region
- As appropriate, and under the direction of the Senior Client Governance Manager - and/or the Head of Client Governance - represent client and distribution teams on regulatory change project forums
