Ward Security Limited is seeking an experienced Security Officer for a high-visibility role in a premier Canary Wharf corporate environment. You will be seen as approachable, professional and vigilant, ensuring a safe, welcoming atmosphere for staff and visitors.

Key duties include patrols, access control, CCTV monitoring, visitor assistance, and timely incident reporting. A minimum 5-year verified history and valid SIA licences are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of checkable employment history per BS7858 vetting requirements.
• Valid Door Supervisor SIA licence.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong observation and incident recording abilities.
• Professional and presentable at all times.
• Reliable and punctual with shift adherence.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible security presence with regular foot patrols across designated areas.
• Control access to the premises, checking IDs to ensure only authorised entry.
• Monitor CCTV and alarm systems, responding to alerts as needed.
• Welcome and assist visitors, providing directions and escorts when required.
• Identify and report concerns including health and safety issues and incidents.
• Carry out searches professionally and in line with procedures.
• Respond confidently to security incidents and escalate when required.
• Complete locking/unlocking duties according to client requirements.
• Be the first point of contact for employees, visitors and contractors.
• Maintain accurate records and logs of visitor movements and incidents.
• Remain alert to suspicious behaviour and report concerns promptly.
• Support a safe working environment with any required First Aid qualifications.
