The successful candidate will prepare technical reports, support bids with waste inputs, and lead small teams while mentoring junior staff. Residency for security clearance may be required.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in waste or characterisation engineering.
• RWA certification (Radioactive Waste Adviser) or equivalent.
• Knowledge of UK regulatory framework for waste and characterisation.
• Understanding of waste routes and testing facilities in the UK and overseas.
• Ability to lead small teams and mentor junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide authoritative waste management and characterisation advice to Assystem and customers.
• Prepare and review waste documents and plans for decommissioning projects.
• Contribute to bids with waste and characterisation input.
• articulates durations and costs for planned work.
• Be a company champion for waste-informed decommissioning and sustainable waste management.
• Provide training and coaching to staff and contractors.
