We are seeking a talented individual to join our Public Sector Client Executive team at Marsh. This role will be based in Cardiff. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office & or seeing clients.

The Role: Client Executive – Public Sector

Marsh’s Public Sector team are a leading provider of insurance and risk management services for local authorities, police and fire & rescue to name but a few. We have been providing insurance solutions to the sector for over 25 years and operate across the UK with clients ranging in size.

Our ability to support a diverse array of public sector providers rests on our expertise and experience – one of our key strengths is our people and our skill in identifying individual risk needs, source competitive and appropriate covers, and provide advice and ongoing support.

The Client Executive will focus on managing and retaining an existing Public Sector client portfolio while identifying and creating more revenue opportunities through proactive cross selling & upselling of our services, making it an ideal opportunity for a current Client Executive or even experienced Account Handler aspiring to thrive at a market-leading insurance broker within a niche market supporting Local Authority clients.

We will rely on you to:

  • Manage a portfolio of Public Sector clients
  • Identify, and agree strategies for, clients’ risk management, risk financing and insurance needs and objectives
  • Facilitate clients insurance tender process including evaluation & market approach
  • Lead and sign off insurance programme design activities
  • Produce budget proposals and negotiate fees
  • Host client and insurer meetings in conjunction with specialist broker and client service teams
  • Strive to deliver best practice, market-leading service and solutions for all clients

What you need to have:

  • Proven insurance experience, public sector preferred but other sectors will be considered
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong relationship building and relationship management skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Knowledge, understanding and interest of the public sector

What qualifications are preferred but not required?

  • Cert CII qualified and working towards ACII is desirable
