Overview
Our Gallagher Education Team is seeking an experienced Client Director to lead approximately 35 clients in the South of England, focusing on increasing home-based executives in that region. Clients will be selected based on the new person's location. The business is highly cyclical, with most clients due for renewal on 1st August. You will manage an existing portfolio and assist with onboarding new clients.
The candidate will oversee a portfolio of around 35 clients, with average premiums ranging from £50,000 to £250,000 (circa £50m turnover), providing quality service to meet client demands, aiming for optimal renewal retention and account growth. As sector leaders, our existing model is highly successful, capturing over 75% of the sector. You will work closely with colleagues at our main office in Formby, Liverpool, fostering mutual support within the team.
We do not require prior Education experience; a proven background in an Account Executive role is essential, as education knowledge can be quickly acquired.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Management
- Manage client and prospect relationships, grow the client book, and provide suitable insurance and risk management solutions.
- Maintain up-to-date client information and sales plans.
- Establish and manage a sales pipeline for potential growth opportunities.
- Build positive relationships at all levels within client organizations.
Quality Management- Collaborate with a team of 6 Client Directors across the UK.
- Work closely with Client Advisers to deliver excellent service.
- Develop strong team relationships, always keeping the client at the core.
- Coordinate with the Broking Team on complex placements.
- Handle internal and external queries from colleagues and underwriters.
- Prepare for renewals both in person and via Teams.
- Review renewal reports and present findings to clients.
- Adhere to internal policies, procedures, and legal requirements, emphasizing client-centric service.
Thought Leadership- Contribute to an inclusive, motivated team culture to achieve high performance.
- Propose ideas and solutions, including market insights on sector-specific issues.
- Present to clients and wider audiences when needed.
Business and Technology- Analyze claims data for client benefit.
- Utilize marketing techniques and social media (LinkedIn) effectively.
- Proficiency in TEAMs, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is preferred.
Risk & Governance- Maintain technical knowledge of market, insurance, and legislation updates.
- Comply with Gallagher's standards, including Treating Customers Fairly and Consumer Duty.
- Follow policies, procedures, and legal requirements, ensuring continuous professional development.
- Complete mandatory training, CPD hours, performance reviews, and goal setting.
- Model good conduct and professional behavior.
About You
- Cert CII/Dip CII/Advanced Dip CII qualifications are desirable.
- Experience working with education clients is interesting but not primary.
- Strong knowledge of the general insurance market, products, and services.
- Proven ability to build rapport with stakeholders.
- Identify potential problems and seek advice proactively.
- Robust network within the insurance industry.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Strong planning and analytical skills.
- Self-motivated and capable of motivating others.
- Eligible to work in the UK and able to travel to client sites.
