Peerpoint is a global platform for legal talent, launched by A&O Shearman to offer clients a more innovative solution to support in-house skill gaps and capacity constraints.

Since its launch over a decade ago, Peerpoint has experienced tremendous success that has seen it become one of the market leaders providing top-tier consultant lawyers to leading financial institutions and corporates. Peerpoint is a truly unique business that offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, entrepreneurial, fun environment where you can have a direct impact on the success of the business but with the support, investment and benefits of one of the world's leading law firms.

Role purpose

The Client Development team is a commercial team with a fantastic team spirit. We are looking for an intellectually curious, commercially astute and client-focused individual to join us for this very exciting next phase in the business' growth. If you are excited by the prospect of working directly with Heads of Legal to help deliver resourcing solutions for their teams, if you like to see the impact of your work and enjoy working in a collaborative and team-focused environment then we would love to hear from you!

The Client Development team is responsible for managing the end-to-end client sales process, which includes: sourcing and effectively qualifying new client leads; pitching to clients for business; establishing new and long-term client relationships; taking the client brief; sourcing suitable legal consultants; negotiating commercial terms; and closing the deal. It is a fast-moving process that requires an individual with drive, tenacity, strong organizational skills and excellent client management ability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively identify and research potential client organisations, focusing on in-house legal teams within leading global businesses:
  • Utilise web-based tools, databases, and social media platforms to generate and qualify new business leads.
  • Maintain and update a comprehensive pipeline of prospects, ensuring accurate records of all interactions and opportunities.
  • Support the planning and execution of client development events, including webinars, roundtables, and networking sessions.
  • Conduct pre-event research to identify and engage target attendees, ensuring high-quality participation from relevant organisations.
  • Prepare briefing materials and background information to maximise event impact and follow-up opportunities.
  • Leverage CRM systems and other digital platforms to track client interactions, manage leads, and monitor the progress of business development activities.
  • Work closely with Client Development Managers to understand client requirements and organisational culture.
  • Assist in the placement of legal consultants by identifying suitable candidates and facilitating introductions to in-house legal teams.
  • Coordinate the logistics of consultant placements, ensuring a seamless process for both clients and consultants.
  • Present suitable opportunities to consultants, providing detailed information and guidance throughout the selection process.
  • Maintain regular communication with consultants and clients to monitor satisfaction and work with Client Development Managers and the Head of Market to address any issues that arise.
  • Contribute to the creation and delivery of marketing materials tailored to client audiences, including presentations, proposals, and case studies.
  • Alongside colleagues, represent the firm at industry events and client meetings, promoting the value of the firm's legal consultancy services.
  • Support digital marketing initiatives, including social media campaigns and website content updates.
  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with clients, acting as a key point of contact for ongoing support and service delivery.
  • Gather feedback from clients and consultants to inform continuous improvement of services.
  • Monitor client satisfaction and proactively address any concerns to ensure a high standard of service is maintained.
Who we are looking for
  • Proactive attitude with the drive and ambition to succeed and a collaborative, solutions focused mind-set
  • Experience delivering excellent client service and building strong peer to peer relationships in a consultative sales role
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced and constantly changing entrepreneurial business
  • Experience successfully managing a sales process and leading on complex negotiations
  • Excellent communication skills, with an engaging and sophisticated writing style
  • The passion and commitment to deliver to the highest standard for our clients and consultants
  • Entrepreneurial outlook and passion for continually improving processes and client delivery to ensure we are at the forefront of providing a market leading client experience
  • Exceptional organisational skills with a meticulous eye for detail
