Job description

My client, a reputable and leading Accountancy Practice, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced bookkeeper to join their busy team in Ilford. As a bookkeeper, you will work with a wide range of clients, giving you exposure to various industries.

My client offers individual service and advice tailored to each client, which sets them apart from standard professional accountants and financial advisers. They value their employees' development and provide valuable, tailored training to support their professional growth.

Job responsibilities
  1. Provide support for the internal bookkeeping team
  2. Conduct bookkeeping and data processing for the Firm’s clients
  3. Maintain accounting records using Sage 50 Accounts and Xero
  4. Manage purchase and sales ledgers
  5. Prepare VAT returns
  6. Communicate with clients via telephone and email to request information
  7. Visit client premises to liaise directly with clients regarding bookkeeping
  8. Prepare management accounts
  9. Meet deadlines and handle client queries promptly
  10. Continue developing bookkeeping skills under supervision
Person Specification
  1. Previous bookkeeping experience is essential
  2. Confident IT user with experience in Xero, Sage, and Microsoft Excel
  3. Demonstrate a proactive problem-solving approach
  4. Respond well to supervision from senior staff
  5. Excellent customer service skills, adaptable to different client needs
