Job summary

Social Security Scotland is seeking a Client Manager or Client Experience Officer to support the delivery of benefits across Scotland. You will review applications, make award decisions, and explain outcomes while handling sensitive information with care.

The role emphasizes accuracy, timely decisions, and strong stakeholder communication in a hybrid Glasgow-based team. Successful candidates will work within the Client Services Delivery division, upholding dignity, fairness, and respect, and

Qualifications

Strong organisational skills to manage a complex caseload.
Excellent communication abilities to engage effectively with clients.
Experience gathering information to support benefit applications.
Ability explain decision outcomes clearly.
Familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

Make award decisions on benefit applications and reviews.
Review new applications, case reviews and redeterminations/appeals.
Handle sensitive information confidentially and in line with data protection guidelines.
Ensure timely, accurate decisions while managing a client caseload and related tasks.
Explain outcomes to clients in writing or over the telephone; communicate complex cases clearly.
Work with colleagues to continually improve the service and encourage contribution.
Maintain strong IT skills and proficiency with Word and Excel.
