Job summary

TC Group is seeking a CAS Advisor to join our Client Accounting Services team in Stanley, with occasional days from Ferryhill. The role delivers bookkeeping, VAT, payroll and management accounting for a portfolio of clients, building strong relationships and ensuring timely, accurate reporting.

You will be AAT Level 4 qualified with 3+ years in practice, proficient in Xero / QuickBooks / Sage, comfortable with cloud tools like Dext, and keen to develop professionally within a supportive firm.

Qualifications

• AAT Level 4 qualification with at least 3 years’ experience in an accountancy role (practice experience preferred).
• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, management accounts, VAT, payroll and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Experienced in cloud accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital accounting tools such as Dext.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with client-focused approach.
• Excellent communication, organisation and client relationship management skills.
• Proactive, accountable and able to manage workloads and deadlines.
• Committed to CPD and supporting junior colleagues.

Hours - Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week with flexible, hybrid working after probationary period

Holiday– 25 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays) increasing by one day per each year of service (up to a maximum of 5 days)

As a CAS Advisor, you will support a portfolio of clients by delivering bookkeeping, VAT, payroll and management accounting services while building strong client relationships. The role is primarily based at our Stanley office, with occasional working days from our Ferryhill office.

Key responsibilities of a CAS Advisor will include:

About you

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

• AAT Level 4 qualified, with at least 3 years' experience in an accountancy role (practice experience preferred).
• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, management accounts, VAT, payroll and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Experienced in using cloud accounting software, including Xero, QuickBooks and Sage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital accounting tools such as Dext.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends, improve processes and add value for clients.
• Excellent communication, organisation and client relationship management skills.
• Proactive, accountable and able to manage workloads and deadlines effectively.
• Committed to continuous professional development and supporting the development of junior team members.
• Holds a full UK driving licence and has access to their own vehicle.
