Qualifications

• Substantial accounting experience in practice, ideally UK-based, including statutory and management accounts.
• VAT and bookkeeping experience using Xero and Sage.
• Ability to support and mentor junior staff and manage client queries.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and complete Limited company accounts and tax computations.
• Use Xero and other accountancy software to perform key tasks.
• Support junior colleagues with queries, set assignments and review their work.
• Prepare management accounts and review VAT returns prepared by juniors.
• Serve as the main contact for your portfolio of clients and keep senior management informed of issues.
• Identify potential time overruns and suggest mitigation actions.
• Ensure review points are cleared and follow-up queries addressed until accounts are signed.
• Attend webinars and stay updated on technical developments.
