Job summary

ProTalent is partnering with a small, modern accountancy practice in the Altrincham area to recruit a client accountant. The role balances management and statutory accounts with direct client engagement and Xero setup.

You will sit with clients to explain numbers, ensuring accurate bookkeeping and building integrations. The firm values technology, cloud-based systems, and a hands-on advisory approach to owner-managed businesses.

Qualifications

• Trained in an accountancy practice; practice grounding matters most.
• Comfortable with both management and statutory accounts.
• Real Xero experience, not just certificate.

Responsibilities

• Preparing management accounts and statutory accounts for a varied portfolio.
• Setting clients up on Xero and building the integrations that go with it.
• Bookkeeping, VAT and reconciliations where clients need the support.
• Supporting on corporation tax and self assessment.
• Owning client queries and delivering clear explanations.
• Developing forecasting, cashflow and advisory work over time.
