Job summary

IQ-EQ is seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional to act as the day-to-day front office contact for private equity, real estate, credit, or debt fund clients in a hybrid UK role. You will review financial statements, validate cash movements, and communicate with CFOs and investors while mentoring junior colleagues and contributing to process improvements.

The ideal candidate brings 3+ years of financial services experience, strong accounting expertise, and ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualifications

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in a professional office environment, ideally within financial services or an accounting practice managing multiple client relationships.
  • Strong accounting expertise, including reviewing working papers and financial statements (with disclosures).
  • ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualification or equivalent, plus higher education in accounting or finance.

Responsibilities

  • Act as day-to-day front office contact for designated private equity, real estate, credit, or debt fund clients.
  • Review quarterly/annual financial statements to ensure compliance with UK GAAP or IFRS.
  • Validate investor drawdown and distribution calculations and communicate cash activities to investors.
  • Mentor and support team members, developing expertise in client-specific accounting frameworks (per LPA).
  • Drive process improvements to balance stakeholder needs and reduce risk.

Job Description
THIS ROLE

Every day brings a new challenge so you’ll need to be a team player at heart, with an eye for detail and great organisational skills so you can prioritise your day to ensure deadlines are met and timelines are adhered to. Your primary responsibility will be to act as a day-to-day front office contact for your designated private equity, real estate, credit, or debt fund clients. You will be a part of a supportive team, own your tasks and proactively manage your deliverables and resolve any issues that may arise.

What You Will Do
  • You’ll manage day-to-day relationships for designated Private Equity clients, including overseeing deliverables, agreeing timelines, and maintaining clear communication with CFOs/financial controllers.
  • You’ll review quarterly/annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with reporting standards (e.g., UK GAAP or IFRS) in collaboration with your Manager and Technical & Training teams.
  • You’ll validate investor drawdown and distribution calculations, ensuring accuracy in fund movements, proper allocation of proceeds, and clear communication of all cash activities to investors.
  • You’ll mentor and support team members while developing deep expertise in client-specific accounting frameworks (per LPA), ensuring all transactions are handled correctly and efficiently.
  • You’ll drive results by improving processes, balancing stakeholder needs, demonstrating sound decision-making and courage, and optimizing workflows to enhance efficiency and reduce risk.

ABOUT YOU
  • You will hold a higher education qualification (e.g., IATI) and be ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified, qualified by experience, or equivalent.
  • You will bring 3+ years of experience in a professional office environment, ideally within financial services or an accounting practice managing multiple client relationships.
  • You will demonstrate strong accounting expertise, including reviewing working papers and financial statements (with disclosures) or equivalent experience supported by CPD.
  • You will have proven experience managing client relationships and resolving issues directly with clients in a professional manner.
  • You will support and mentor junior team members while applying intermediate Excel skills to enhance efficiency and accuracy in you
