A modern accounting firm in Wales is seeking a Client Accountant to support small business clients and prepare year-end accounts under FRS regulations. Qualifications

  • Must be AAT qualified or Level 3 working towards Level 4 with relevant experience.
  • Experience in preparing statutory accounts and a strong practice background.
  • Excellent time management, strong communication skills, and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare year-end accounts for small companies under FRS 105 & FRS 102.
  • Produce and file VAT returns and corporation tax computations.
  • Maintain bookkeeping records using accounting software.
  • Assist with payroll and CIS returns.
  • Prepare personal tax returns for directors and sole trader accounts.
  • Act as the main contact for client queries regarding compliance.

Skills

AAT qualified or Level 3 working towards Level 4
Practice background with exposure to contractors/SMEs
Confident in preparing statutory accounts under FRS 105
Excellent time management
Strong communication skills
Understanding of VAT, bookkeeping, and corporation tax
Payroll/CIS experience
Proficient with cloud and desktop accounting systems

Client Accountant Deeside
Salary: £26,000 per annum £30,000 (depending on experience)
Hours: Fulltime Monday Friday

A fantastic opportunity has become available for an ambitious accountant with practice experience to take the next step in their career. This position is ideal for someone confident in supporting limited company contractors and small business clients, and wants to develop further within a supportive, modern practice environment.

Responsibilities
  • Preparing year-end accounts for small companies under FRS 105 & FRS 102 (1A).
  • Producing and filing VAT returns and corporation tax computations.
  • Maintaining bookkeeping records using a range of accounting software.
  • Assisting with payroll and CIS returns where required.
  • Preparing personal tax returns for directors and sole trader accounts.
  • Acting as the go-to contact for client queries around compliance and day-to-day accounting matters.
  • Ensuring deadlines are met and work is reviewed to a high standard.
Experience
  • AAT qualified (or Level 3 working towards Level 4 with relevant experience).
  • Solid practice background ideally with exposure to contractors and/or SMEs.
  • Confident in preparing statutory accounts under FRS 105.
  • Excellent time management and ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build trusted client relationships.
  • Good understanding of VAT, bookkeeping and corporation tax.
  • Payroll/CIS experience would be a real bonus.
  • Comfortable using both cloud and desktop accounting systems (e.g. Xero, FreeAgent).
