Qualifications

Client Accountant

Department: Governance Services

Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time

Location: Jersey

Description

We're looking for a Client Accountant to join our growing Global Accounting team within Governance Services. In this role, you'll work closely with the team on the provision of accounting services to a range of client entities.

About the role

In this role you will:

  1. Assist in preparing and reviewing client financial statements under UK GAAP, IFRS, and FRS 102.
  2. Assist in completing the audit process for clients.
  3. Help generate periodic reports, capital account statements, and net asset valuations.
  4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records in client entity databases (including Viewpoint, QuickBooks, and Yardi).
  5. Collaborate with colleagues and clients to manage expectations and deadlines.
  6. Maintain a detailed understanding of transactions and regularly liaise with your line manager.
  7. Ensure consistency in accounting service levels.
  8. Build and develop relationships with clients, auditors, and third-party service providers.
About you
  • Relevant academic qualification, preferably part qualified ACCA/ACA, currently studying or qualified by relevant experience with good up-to-date technical knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS, including practical application.
  • Demonstrable practical and technical knowledge of accounting systems, particularly Viewpoint and QuickBooks would be an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly in the use of MS Excel, is also expected.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to handle pressure and deliver accurate results promptly.
  • Have a professional, proactive, and service-oriented approach.
  • Discretion and good judgement.
