Job description

Client Accountant. OUR CLIENT is a well–established firm of Chartered Surveyors who have been operating in the UK for over 50 years. Their client base ranges from corporate occupiers to property investors with portfolios mainly across central London. They are now looking for a Client Accountant to oversee all aspects of client and property accounting for multiple clients. You will work closely with other team to ensure the efficient and accurate management of client and tenant funds.

THE ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES for a Client Accountant:

  • Managing client and property accounting, oversee billing (service charges, rents, etc.).
  • Managing data using property management systems such as TRAMPS or similar software.
  • Preparing completion statements, rent reviews, and interest calculations.
  • Handling the onboarding and offboarding new and outgoing instructions.
  • Assisting service charge accountant to reconcile and close year–end service charges.
  • Conducting annual service charge cash reconciliations, addressing any issues.
  • Performing bank reconciliations of client and tenant deposit accounts.
  • Preparing and submitting payover summary, Client statements, and VAT reports.
  • Authorising and reviewing supplier payments, managing client funding requests.
  • Overseeing and documenting client payments and tenant refunds.

THE PERSON and SKILLS REQUIREMENTS for a Client Accountant:

  • Minimum of 2 years in client accounting experience with a focus on commercial property.
  • Proven ability to manage Commercial Property accounts within this sector.
  • Strong service charge account preparation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for client and team collaboration.
  • Eagerness to grow within a dynamic and expanding company.
