Client Accountant Maternity Cover Contract
Salary: £30,000 £38,000
Location: Hampstead (possible hybrid options available)

Our client, a highly respected and award-winning estate agency with an extensive network of over 35 offices, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Client Accountant to join their finance team on a fixed-term maternity cover contract. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated professional with a strong background in property or client accounting to make an impact within a fast-paced, supportive, and well-established organisation.

As the successful candidate, you will play a key role in helping to manage the financial operations of the company s property management portfolio. You will be responsible for raising rent demands and client invoices, along with processing creditor invoices, cheque payments, and daily receipts to ensure accounts remain accurate and up to date.

The role also carries responsibility for completing monthly bank reconciliations, producing monthly and quarterly client statements and extracts, and managing client and VAT reporting. In addition, you will support ad-hoc financial reporting requirements, often utilising Excel to deliver insights tailored to individual client specifications.

Further duties include the preparation and processing of management fee invoices, as well as submitting VAT returns and ensuring timely payments to HMRC. This position is best suited to an accountant with previous experience in property or client accounting, excellent attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

  • Maintain the property management system with Periods / Vat Periods / Property Expense Codes etc
  • Maintain/Create Tenant / Debtor Records
  • Handle the raising of demands for Rent and client invoices
  • Undertake the Creditor Invoice Processing / Cheque Payment Processing as well as Daily Receipt Processing and paying invoices.
  • Undertake the monthly Bank Reconciliation
  • Monthly / Quarterly Actual Client Statements/ & Extracts
  • Client /VAT Reporting, including ad- hoc Excel Reporting to meet Client Specification
  • Process Management Fee Invoices
  • VAT Reporting and Payment to HMRC
