Fulltime Band 2 Clerk Typist. Working across 5 days 0830 1630
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Oncology team. We are looking to recruit a clerk typist; this role would be an ideal step to becoming a medical secretary with a full induction programme and training given along with opportunities for professional development in a supportive environment.

As a clerk typist you will be responsible for the typing of correspondence and dealing with telephone calls both internal and external. Liaising with external medical teams such as hospices and GP surgeries. Scanning of documents and incoming post. Covering team members during absence and supporting the wider team where applicable.
Nice friendly team based in the Bexley wing. We cover both Medical and Clinical Oncology.

The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team in order to provide an effective and efficient clerical and typing service to the Department.
The post holder has a responsibility to ensure that clerical and typing duties are completed in a timely manner, ensuring Trust targets are met.
The post holder should preferably be educated to GCSE/O level standard.
RSA II typing/word processing or equivalent.
Audiotyping.
All staff are expected to have, or be prepared to study, the European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) and undertake any further training as appropriate.
Good communication skills are required, both written and oral.
Keyboard/data entry skills are essential.
The post holder should be polite and helpful, have good customer service skills and be able to use own initiative.

A performance review will be carried out annually within the department and new objectives may be set.
The post holder will communicate with patients and their families and liaise with other health professionals both internally and externally as an integral part of the post.
